About Me
I'm a journalist, Pisces, dog lover, avid reader and reviewer of books, photographer, world traveler, astrology enthusiast, and proud queer woman with an endless curiosity to explore and learn new things. Currently, I am the editor of The Bourne Enterprise and The Mashpee Enterprise newspapers. I run our newsroom intern program and work hands-on with high school and college students looking to break into journalism, and mentor rookie reporters to help elevate their craft.
I am also a student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, as a member of the 6th Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership cohort.
I started my professional career as a reporter for The Falmouth Enterprise, also part of Falmouth Publishing, Inc. I am based in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on beautiful Cape Cod. In my free time, I read and review books on Instagram and have built a strong following in the ‘Bookstagram’ community.
I began my journalism career during my semester abroad as part of the N.U.in program, keeping a blog during my time in Sydney, Australia. My real journalism experience came when I joined The Huntington News during my first semester on campus in January 2017. With The News, I held positions as a staff writer — specifically covering the men's hockey beat for two seasons — social media editor, and sports editor. I completed my first co-op at Boston.com, covering sports for their website and the Boston Globe. Later in my fourth year, I took a full-time internship position with Lahey Health, joining the communications team within their IT department. I also accepted a part-time internship position with NBC Sports Boston, working hands-on in their newsroom until the COVID-19 pandemic halted our program. During my fifth year, I joined the editorial board of the Interdisciplinary Women’s Council as a managing editor. We produced the first edition of our magazine, The Chronicle, in January 2021.
I graduated in May 2021 from Northeastern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism with minors in Sports, Media, and Communications and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. One month later, I started my first post-grad job at The Falmouth Enterprise as a general assignment reporter. I absolutely cherish my time as a reporter in Falmouth, as I spent each and every day on the ground reporting local news that mattered to the community. I learned so much that I will carry with me for the rest of my career.
In April 2022, I was awarded a New England Newspaper and Press Association Award, earning me third place for Best Sports Feature.
In June 2022, I was promoted to News Editor of The Bourne Enterprise. I later took on the editorship of our award-winning podcast, The Upper Cape Catch [currently on hiatus].
In May 2023, I was named Rookie of the Year by the New England Newspaper & Press Association for work during my breakout year as a reporter with The Falmouth Enterprise. I also earned third place for a sports feature story that I wrote about curling.
In July 2024, I took over the editorship of The Mashpee Enterprise, in addition to my role as editor of The Bourne Enterprise. I now manage a staff of four full-time reporters, plus high school/college interns throughout the year. Reviving and managing our intern program has been one of the highlights of my time at the Enterprise!
In March 2025, I was awarded second place for my commentary piece on Jack Teixeira, the 21-year-old Airman currently serving a federal prison sentence for what experts have called one of the largest leaks of classified military information ever, and third place in the editorial category by the New England Newspaper & Press Association.
In July 2025, I was accepted to the City University of New York’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism as a member of the 6th cohort of the Executive Program in News Innovation & Leadership. The program kicked off in September 2025, and upon graduation in June 2026, I will have a graduate certificate/MBA equivalent. I am honored to be part of such an elite group of global news industry leaders, and have begun working on a capstone project that focuses on what local news organizations can do to adapt to the times and stay relevant in an increasingly fragmented news ecosystem.
A lot of my early writing was sports-focused, but I have since expanded to write about my wide variety of journalistic interests, including politics, environmental justice, Indigenous rights, cultural trends, science, social justice, LGBTQIA+ topics, mental health, pop culture, legal issues, and much, much more.
