After spending the fall of my freshman year studying in Sydney, Australia, I arrived on Northeastern's campus eager to explore all of the new opportunities it had to offer. The first thing I did, at my Pa's adamant suggestion, was join the student newspaper.
I walked into the first Huntington News meeting of the semester with no real reporting experience and no idea what to expect; I walked out of that meeting as the new beat reporter for the Northeastern Huskies Men's Hockey team — and that was a huge deal for me. As a huge hockey fan, I truly couldn't have dreamt up a better breakthrough role for me as a journalist. I learned the ins and outs of reporting, the basics of being a good journalist, how to function as part of a newsroom and so, so much more during my years with The Huntington News.
Below are some of my articles from over the years, both hockey-related and otherwise.
