BHS Drama Club Will Present 'Our Town'
The Bourne High School Drama Club will be presenting its fall production of “Our Town” on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 4 to 6, at Bourne High School.
Isabella Palumbo, a Bourne High student and representative to the school committee, shared her excitement for the upcoming production at the committee’s meeting earlier this week.
“You might be wondering why I’m in this outfit and all of these lovely people are in their crazy outfits,” said Isabella, referencing her own white-laced floor-length dress and choral members’ outfits of more floor-length dresses, slacks, suit jackets, vests, bowties and top hats.
“This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Bourne High School’s production of ‘Our Town’ is performing,” she said. “You should definitely come see that because we’re working really, really hard, really late nights, and we all are putting a lot of hard work into creating something special.”
“Our Town” is a 1938 three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama that year. The show focuses mainly on the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913, telling the story of the town through the everyday lives of its citizens.
Tickets for Bourne High School’s production of “Our Town” are available at www.onthestage.tickets/show/bourne-high-school. Student tickets are $5, adult tickets are $10 and senior tickets are $8. Running time is two hours with a 15-minute intermission. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7 PM, and Sunday at 2 PM.
