State Police Investigating Body Found At Scusset Beach

Reports of an abandoned vehicle at Scusset Beach State Reservation late Sunday night led to the discovery of a dead man who state police believe is connected to the vehicle.

A statement from the Massachusetts State Police issued on Monday, October 16, said that troopers were at Scusset Beach shortly before midnight on Sunday, October 15 investigating a vehicle found abandoned there.

A search of the area, conducted in conjunction with the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, led to the body’s discovery in the Sagamore Hill area of the reservation. State police believe that the man, who has not been identified, is connected to the abandoned car.

The statement said that a preliminary investigation by the State Police Detective Unit for the Cape and Islands District and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section has yielded no evidence of foul play thus far.

A full investigation is ongoing.
