BPS Bus Drivers Will Host 'Stuff-A-Bus' Gift Drive On December 2
Keeping with a nearly two-decades-old tradition, Bourne’s school bus drivers will be hosting the annual Stuff-a-Bus gift drive this Saturday, December 2.
The event will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM at 70 Trowbridge Road in Buzzards Bay and at the Massachusetts State Police barracks located near the Bourne Bridge. All residents, business owners and visitors are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped gifts or gift cards that will help ensure that local children in need have a happy holiday season.
Gifts and gift cards are being accepted for children of any age, and anyone who would like to participate is welcome.
Some toy suggestions that children are asking for include LEGOS, Pokémon cards, Tech Deck products, Squishmallows, arts and crafts, drawing/painting supplies, science kits, Mini Brands toys, and board and card games. Some gift card suggestions include those from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Stop & Shop, Market Basket, CVS and Game Stop.
Bourne’s school bus drivers and Bourne Public Schools staff will be on hand to collect the gifts and greet those who stop by to donate. All donations will directly benefit children in the Bourne community.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming community members to this event,” Sue Downing, the school district’s director of transportation, said in a statement. “Each year we encourage the Bourne community to share in the spirit of giving by dropping off an unwrapped gift to bring joy to children in need this holiday season.”
