Bourne Town Election Is Tuesday
Bourne’s Annual Town Election will take place Tuesday, May 16, with several races on which residents will cast their vote.

The race that is shaping up to be competitive this year is for the Bourne Planning Board. Three incumbents are up for reelection, and two other seats are on the ballot to fill unexpired terms.
Jeanne L. Azarovitz, M. Elizabeth Brown and Sandra E. Goldstein are the board members seeking reelection. John J. Duggan Jr. of Sagamore Beach pulled papers to run as the sole challenger to the incumbents.
Two additional seats on the board became available with the resignations of members Patricia A. Nemeth and John G. Carroll Jr. Pocasset resident James J. Robinson Jr. pulled papers to run for Ms. Nemeth’s unexpired two-year term. Catherine D. Walton of Buzzards Bay and planning board associate member William W. (Dusty) Meier each pulled papers to run for Mr. Carroll’s one-year unexpired term.
Longtime Bourne Recreation Authority member Gregory A. Folino is expected to be challenged for his seat by Robert Buckley of Sagamore Beach.
Former Bourne School Committee member Anne-Marie Siroonian has emerged as the sole candidate for the one seat available on the Bourne Select Board. Incumbent selectwoman Judith M. Froman chose not to run for reelection this year.
Ms. Siroonian took out nomination papers to run for the select board in the wake of Town Moderator Amy B. Kullar’s decision not to run. Ms. Kullar has instead decided to run for a return to her position as moderator. She will run unopposed.
There are three seats on the Bourne School Committee on the ballot. Incumbents Erin Perry and Ryan Bagdonas are not up for re-election; incumbent Kerrie Scofield is the only one of the three to run. Donel L. Beals of Sagamore Beach and Kendellynn D. Cavanaugh-Gagne of Pocasset are each running for one of the three available seats.
Ms. Beals is also running to retain the nonveteran representative seat on the Bourne Veterans Memorial Community Center board of trustees. Current trustee Christopher J. Farrell running to retain the veteran representative seat to the board. Both races are unopposed.
Three seats are available on the Bourne Board of Health. Board member William W. (Dusty) Meier is up for reelection, and following the resignations of longtime members Stanley D. Andrews and Galon L. (Skip) Barlow, two seats became vacant.
Mr. Meier, Robert D. Collett of Pocasset, and William J. Doherty of Cataumet are all running for the two available three-year term seats on the board. No one has withdrawn papers to run for Mr. Barlow’s one-year unexpired term.
Kathy Fox Alfano and fellow incumbent Kristina Prodouz have each pulled papers for reelection to the Jonathan Bourne Public Library board of trustees.
