Eversource Outages Leave Thousands Without Power
Early morning power outages left thousands in the Falmouth area without power this morning.
“At the peak of the outage, we had about 28,000 customers that were affected, and that included Martha’s Vineyard and the Falmouth area,” said Christopher McKinnon, spokesperson for Eversource. “They were restored just before 9:30 this morning.”
Mr. McKinnon said that there was an equipment issue along the transmission line, which triggered the outages across Falmouth and Martha's Vineyard.
The outages come just before the Northeast is expected to be slammed with a winter storm and potential bomb cyclone, which could bring wintery conditions reminiscent of the bomb cyclone in late October 2021 that caused extensive power outages across Massachusetts.
