Planning Board Endorses Buzzards Bay Coalition Land Merger

Falmouth Planning Board unanimously endorsed an approval-not-required plan from the Buzzards Bay Coalition to merge three parcels off Quissett Avenue and 18 Woodriff Lane.

Michael Borselli of Falmouth Engineering spoke to the board on behalf of the applicant at its meeting on Tuesday, February 22. He explained the coalition’s plan to combine land known as Lot 8 with Lot F1 and Parcel 8C to create one large parcel exceeding 30 acres.

He said that the Buzzards Bay Coalition acquired the land in the recent past and developed a driveway connection from Woods Hole Road that goes through the property for access purposes.

“There are no plans to ever do any development on this land; it’s basically being preserved, other than for certain needs that the Buzzards Bay Coalition has to work with the land that is already developed—that being where [the] two buildings and driveway are.”

The purpose of the plan is to combine the land to make one large parcel as opposed to a few small ones.

Mr. Borselli said that it is possible that some of the land would be open to the public in the future for educational purposes, but he did not have any specific details and said that no plans had been made.
