River Otter Killed On Route 28

A large male river otter was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 28 near the East Falmouth Library last Thursday, March 17, just after 1 PM.

Dr. Foster Palmer of Deer Run Veterinary Services received reports of the incident shortly after it happened and arrived on the scene with his wife, Lisa Palmer, to assess the situation. Falmouth Police Officer Thomas Maguire and Animal Control Officer Jessica Gow arrived soon after, and the otter was removed.
