Pie In The Sky Sold To National Chain
Pie in the Sky, a popular bakery and coffee shop in Woods Hole, recently sold to BT Brands Inc., a national restaurant chain.
Owner Erik T. Gura confirmed the acquisition but said there will not be any immediately noticeable changes to the establishment, which has served patrons of the Woods Hole Ferry Terminal since 1982.
“From the outside looking in, nothing’s going to change,” Mr. Gura said in a phone call Thursday, May 19. “They love the shop, they love what we’ve been able to do and they’re interested in supporting it.”
The company announced that it had completed the acquisition of Pie In The Sky on May 12 in a press release.
“The Pie Coffee acquisition gives BT Brands an iconic brand and local favorite with a history of profitability,” said BT Brands CEO Gary Copperud. “The purchase provides a platform to grow in the coffee bakery area, both retail and online.”
BT Brands Inc. owns and operates nine fast-food Burger Time restaurants in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota, along with Keegan Seafood Grille in Florida.
