Bad Martha's, Cape Cod Pride Team Up For Pride Month Celebrations

Bad Martha’s Brewery and Cape Cod Pride have teamed up to “Get Bad and Do Good” for Pride Month this year, raising money for the LGBTQ+ nonprofit organization through a series of pride-centric events.

“This is our second year collaborating with Cape Cod Pride, and we collaborate throughout the year to host different types of nights for them,” said Ralph Younger, assistant manager at Bad Martha’s.

This year for the first time, Bad Martha’s brewed a specialty beer for Pride Month. The beer name—Pride Of The Sea—was crowdsourced through the Cape Cod Pride social media, with a $75 gift card awarded to the person who came up with the best name.

Every Wednesday throughout June, Bad Martha’s will hold Get Bad and Do Good for Charity Bingo Night with host benefactor Cape Cod Pride. A $5 donation is suggested with every bingo card; the proceeds from these will be donated to Cape Cod Pride at the end of the month. The celebrations kicked off on Wednesday, June 1, with Pride Of The Sea, a citrus session IPA, being brought on tap.

“They come out, play bingo, we have some laughs, some good times,” Mr. Younger said. “Cape Cod Pride has a reserved area on our front porch area where they’re able meet people who want to learn more about their organization and things like that.”

Bad Martha’s will be hosting additional events for Pride Month, beginning with the Colors of Love celebration on Saturday, June 11. The event will be hosted with Cape Cod Pride and will feature DJ Louis Defunk, a Boston-area musical artist. A dollar from every beer sold will go into the donation purse for Cape Cod Pride.

A second event will be held and hosted by Cape Cod Pride on Saturday, June 25. Details on this event are to come, but the final celebration for Pride Month will be held on Thursday, June 30. Thursdays are Trivia Night at Bad Martha’s, and this month will culminate with a LGBTQ-centric trivia night based on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Schitt’s Creek.”
