Mashpee PD Identify Woman Killed In Friday's Accident
Mashpee Police have identified the woman killed last Friday morning after being struck by a car on Job's Fishing Road as 92-year-old Dorothy L. Ilott, of Mashpee.
At 7:21 AM last Friday, November 8, Mashpee Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-car crash on Job’s Fishing Road. A pedestrian walking their dog had been struck; the dog died at the scene and the pedestrian, later identified as Ms. Ilott, reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Falmouth Hospital.
Ms. Ilott succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, November 9.
In a press release last week, the department said that the operator of the vehicle involved remained on-scene while police conducted their initial investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mashpee Police as of this writing, per the department's release, in tandem with the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.
