Barnstable County COVID Update

The Barnstable County Health Department has reported a steady decline of coronavirus cases, boasting a county-wide 0.52 percent positivity rate as of June 18.

With Massachusetts facial covering advisories lifted statewide, there has been a steady decrease in serious cases as well as overall COVID diagnoses. Hospitalizations are also on the decline, and there are currently no red- or yellow-risk communities in Barnstable County.

All future COVID-19 clinics will be announced and be held at Cape Cod Community College. Same-day appointments are available at local pharmacies and clinics. Homebound residents may contact the Community Health Center of Cape Cod or local VNA. The Barnstable County Health Department advises homebound residents who are not yet vaccinated to contact their local senior services or council on aging.

As of June 17, about 82 percent of all eligible residents had received at least one dose of the vaccine and 66 percent are fully vaccinated, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
